Support Your Home Maker’s Dream

Whenever you step into a middle class, you will see one busy should running to take care of everybody. She will be making food in the kitchen, at the same time she will be getting the kids ready for school, and serving tea for the elders, finding lost things. She would save here and there to take her family to the next level. She keeps on making sacrifices. She is the homemaker.

Ask any of these women, they will tell you stories of their dreams. How good she was in sports. How she loved making crafts. How she wanted to be a dancer. How she still writes stories and poetry. And one thing will be common among all these women. They will say it with hopelessness. They will put on armour and tell themselves not to hope because nobody is going to support them. Why should it be like that? It is the duty of each and every person in the house to support her dreams. And here are a few ways in which you can do so.

Trust Her.

Because many people laugh when a woman wants to step out. They say she is naive and will be cheated. They say that she is just dreaming and her dreams are impractical. If you have been doing that, stop. Even if she gets cheated, she will learn her lesson and do better. So encourage her. Nothing she dreams is silly.

Give Her Space.

In the current situation, people don’t shut women inside. Rather they encourage her to do as she pleases. But they keep a check. Do your duties and then proceed to do what you want. And that’s one cruel check. They leave all the household chores on her. She will have so much to do that she won’t be able to think about anything else. If you have been one of them, change. Share some responsibility. Help her make time for herself. Look after the kids. Help in cleaning. Look over her mistakes. And don’t blame her for having dreams.

Let Her Spend Money On Herself.

People literally react as if a woman has committed a crime if she spent any extra cash on her dreams. Want to buy a saree? That’s acceptable. Want to buy makeup? Acceptable. Want to take a course to improve her hobby? It’s a crime. Even worse is that she will be blamed if she wants to sell her own gold to invest in her dreams. She can spend on any silly stuff but not on dreams. Because people are so sure they won’t come to anything. So let a woman invest on herself.

These are the basic things a family must do to help the dreams of the one person who does it all. It is not too much to ask. By doing so little, you are adding colors to the life of hopeless woman. It’s a family’s duty to her.
